Employment policy on discrimination

NYCU has formal, university-wide policies to prevent and address workplace discrimination. The “Statement on Academic Freedom” explicitly forbids discrimination on the basis of religion, sexuality/sex, gender, age, disability, race/ethnicity, color, class, marital status, and care responsibilities, among other statuses. NYCU also operates dedicated Workplace Sexual Harassment and Gender Discrimination Prevention & Handling Guidelines, which set investigation procedures, protection measures, hotlines, and sanctions. In addition, the Personnel Office maintains implementation measures (e.g., complaint channels, staff training) and targeted inclusion programs such as employment of persons with disabilities.

Policy created: 2021 / Policy reviewed: 2025
